It is my great honor and privilege to welcome you all to the 22nd Iloilo Medical Society Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting on June 14-15, 2024 with the theme: “Veracity In the Remedy and Alleviation of MaLady - #IMSViral”.

 

            After a series of three annual IMS conventions in virtual platforms due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be conducting this activity in a face-to-face setup. However, this has offered the IMS Board with greater challenges, especially in the logistics and the corresponding heavy financial load. The scientific meeting will also be conducted in 2 days for the first time! Rest assured that this will be another great learning experience to all our physicians in Iloilo and the nearby provinces of Aklan, Capiz, and Antique.

 

The scientific committee has prepared a comprehensive list of relevant topics pertaining to various fields of medicine, even including medical jurisprudence.  The lectures will revolve on the updates in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that we often see in our clinical practice that will be discussed by excellent speakers. The medical jurisprudence will tackle legal medicine issues that affect our medical practice and these will be ably discussed by a panel of excellent lawyers as well.

 

The Fellowship night is something to watch out for by all IMS members. With the theme: “Crazy Rich MDs”, this promises a night of fun, camaraderie, and extravagance as our way to de-stress ourselves from the toxicities of medical practice.
